Remember last year when Apple received a patent (http://apple.slashdot.org/story/12/11/16/2234233/apple-patents-page-turn-animation) on the faux page curl in iBooks? Lots of people laughed at the idea (http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/11/16/apple-now-owns-the-page-turn/?smid=tw-nytimesbits&seid=auto) that Apple could patent the page turn, but not Samsung. The gadget maker has just filed for their own page turn patent (http://www.the-digital-reader.com/2013/05/01/samsung-files-patent-on-page-turn/). The paperwork explains in great detail (http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PG01&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsrchnum.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=%2220130104017%22.PGNR.&OS=DN/20130104017&RS=DN/20130104017) what the page turn looks like, how the software would work, and what on screen gestures could be used to turn the page.
