Cloud-based saving and lots of Google+ integration.
Rumours of a Google-based rival to Apple's Game Centre surfaced around a year ago (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/google-planning-to-mimic-apple-by-launching-a-game-centre/018005), but no such product has materialised just yet. However, Android Police (http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/05/11/google-play-games-leaks-out-in-all-its-glory-ahead-of-google-io-hello-cloud-game-saves-apk-teardown/) reports the Google Play Games service is very real and lists its features ahead of the official unveiling Google is expected to make at its I/O conference this week.
Users will reportedly have the power to manage game notifications, who can send them and games that have been muted, with management controlled via Google+.
Syncing and saving will be a big feature, as users can connect with Gmail, Calendar and so on, with the power to save gameplay in the cloud. There is also the ability to invite other players to join you, selecting on an automatic basis or manually, though there is limited availability per game.
Chat rooms, achievements, scoring and leaderboard features are also available on the service, with Google+ integration featured strongly throughout.
The launch of Google Play Services would follow Google's recent revamp of the Google Play store (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/google-play-aims-to-turn-users-on-with-a-new-look/021061)and a ban against developers automatically updating their apps.
