Upcoming 3DS games Pokémon X and Y will be set in a new region of the Pokémon world designed as an alternate version of France.Named in Japan's CoroCoro magazine as Karos (thanks, Serebii (http://www.serebii.net/index2.shtml)), the game's map shows a close geographical similarity to the French region.http://images.eurogamer.net/2013/articles//a/1/5/7/9/5/6/7/eurogamer-izebqx.jpg/EG11/resize/300x-1/quality/91Trés bon-sly.

The location was hinted at in previous footage of the game which showed a city filled with wide boulevards and a structure uncannily similar to the Eiffel Tower. This Parisian area is named Miare City (although that moniker will probably change for the game's English translation). One image of the city shows the player character using their Pokémon as a mount - a new feature for the series.Four new species were also revealed: Elikiteru, a droopy-eared electric lizard, Yayakoma, a small bird like a robin, Yancham, a mischevious panda, and Gogoat, the goat-esque creature that the player character is shown riding. Finally, players will be able to pick one of three designs for male and female versions of the playable character - each with different colour hair. Each Pokémon game is set in a fictionalised version of the real world - Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh were based on various sections of Japan, while Black and White's Unova was set in an alternate version of the wider New York area.
