DigiTimes (http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20130516PD207.html) has reported that Microsoft’s free update for Windows 8 is estimated to arrive in October 2013.
Sources from related ODMs told the site that notebooks featuring the update (codenamed Windows Blue) are set to start volume production in mid-September with the official launch happening late October.
This is the first major update for Windows 8 and it is rumoured to include a solution to Windows 8’s lack of a start button. (http://www.pcr-online.biz/news/read/windows-blue-officially-named-8-1-free-update-to-os/030939)
