New sports-specific engine is the result of shared internal tech

EA has unveiled a new game engine for use in its next-gen sports titles, including FIFA and Madden.
The new Ignite Engine will power all of EA Sports games on next generation consoles, it was revealed today during Microsoft’s Xbox One press conference.

Games in development for Xbox One using Ignite include FIFA, Madden, UFC and NBA Live – the latter is returning are a hiatus of two years.
The engine is said to give ten times more animation, depth and detail to games.
Speaking to GameTrailers (http://www.gametrailers.com/netstorage/xboxcountdown/live.html), EA Sports, VP of EA Sports Andrew Wilson said the Ignite Engine “blurs a line between real and virtual, never before will you have had that experience on a console.”
