Over at Emulatronia (http://www.emulatronia.com/) they have posted screenshots of Chanka running games like Unreal, Metropolis Street Racer, Tony Hawk 2 and Jet Set Radio.[br][br]They do seem to be older screenshots than current builds but still great to look at.

Never mind *;)

There are some news about Chanka. The public would be released this weekend or the next week. Some requirements for Chanka :

1) CPU with SSE instructions (Intel P3/P4 or AMD XP)
2) ATI Radeon or nVida GeForce (with the last drivers)
3) DirectX 9.0b
4) Windows XP (Windows 9x or Milleniun Edition won't work. W2K possible)

Now some info about the release :

1) It will run backups with autoboot (or alone).
2) It's recommended to use stored iso backups in the HD mounted like virtual cd unit (alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools recomended). Reading cds directly from the cd-rom can be slow and cut.
3) Actual compatibility around 10%
4) Some games work at 40fps
5) Sound is working near perfect (P4 2Ghz or similar). Tony Hawk works at 60fps with sound!!
6) Other things ;-)

P.D Wraggster. Could you update your DC Scene block (in the news section) with our actual url (www.talfi.net) please? Thank you in advance

Does it run homebrew of any kind or it's HLE and using the katana libs to HLE the calls No homebrew would run on it at all then only a few Retail games.

40fps is using frameskip?

Theres no HLE used, all LLE. It does run homebrew, but only through bootable CD's.

hi everyone, i am really confused about how we will play games on this emulator ???

1) It will run backups with autoboot (or alone).
2) It's recommended to use stored iso backups in the HD mounted like virtual cd unit (alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools recomended). Reading cds directly from the cd-rom can be slow and cut.

right, now i assume we download backup iso files, i really can't think of another way, i mean drives cannot read GD-Roms right? is it legal to download iso's of games you own already as i only really want to play a few games that i have already? help :-/

don't flame me for this its not a rom request

1) I didn't say anything about download backup iso files. Didn't I?. If you can backup your own games you will play it (possible) with Chanka. If you download ilegal isos it's your own problem.

2) Using ISOS in you hard drive (and mounted like virtual CD) it will be better for emulation because cd-rom access can be slowly to read data. Obviously yo cannot read GD-ROMs in your DVD-ROM (or CD-ROM ;D) without a modified firmware (ilegal ???).

3) Windows 2000 has not been tested. It's the only i said.

Regards (again)

Dreamer, you can find that info searching it (a little) in google. Don't ask for this kind of 'troubles' in this forum or you will have problems with the moderators.

Be clever and find it yourself.

i can tell you that DC Homebrew has lots of Legal homebrew isos/cd images but we and most dreamcast sites wont support illegal isos.

that is a very good point that no normal cdrom drive can read dreamcast discs unless they were backups on cdrs.but i keep hush hush on that subject.but hey the screenshots loo k fantastic and getting 40fps on some games, that is insane.great job.hope to see it soon.i have a dreamcast but would love to test the emulator and put my pc thru the paces :)

Thank you for all the info and pics! I am so disapointed that it won't run Homebrew at all >:( because I don't want this site turned into an illegal bazar or something :'(

We can discuss about it in ten years ;)
