Xbox One will let users navigate and watch live TV from cable, telco or satellite set-top box fed through the console. However, TV integration features will be limited to the US at launch,Microsoft has confirmed (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/407975/xbox-one-tv-only-available-for-us-at-launch/).But a Sky spokesperson toldPocket-lint (http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/121267-sky-happy-to-explore-opportunities-of-xbox-one-youview-not-so-much): "We enjoy a long track-record of innovating with Microsoft on the Xbox platform and will explore any future opportunities offered by Xbox One."
Speaking in a wide-ranging Xbox One (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/408688/interviews/interview-phil-harrison-on-xbox-one-indies-pre-owned-games-and-more/) interview published this week, Phil Harrison, corporate vice president of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business (IEB), told CVG: "TV is a very local thing as you know. We are committed to working with our existing and potential new partners to make sure that wherever you live we will deliver a great TV experience.
"We believe that the TV connectivity of Xbox One is a really magical part of the system and we're committed to making that amazing wherever you live. We know that TV is ultra local and we already have teams in place to work on that vision."
Users will be able to find TV shows on Xbox One in three ways: by using voice and motion controls, through a personal favourites area, or via a trending section which shows what's popular with the Xbox community. "This is the beginning of truly intelligent TV," Yusuf Mehdi, senior vice president of Microsoft's IEB, claimed earlier this week.
