Speculation surrounding the device had been building for a while, but Samsung has since moved to end this by admitting the handset's existence (http://global.samsungtomorrow.com/?p=24447).
Sporting a five-inch 1080p display, the Active boats a 1.9GHz quad-core processor and eight-megapixel camera with LED flash. However, the device gains its name from its inclusion of IP67 water and dust protection, which will see the device survive a drop into water for up to 30 minutes.
Built with outdoor enthusiasts in mind, the handset packs a water-resistant headphone socket, built-in barometer and Samsung's 'glove touch' screen technology, which unsurprisingly, means the device can be used whilst wearing gloves.
