Despite mixed support from third parties, Ubisoft still believes Wii U can find a place in the market.
Nintendo is not holding an E3 press conference but will unveil a raft of new games on the showfloor. It will only take one to 'rescue' the console, according to EMEA exec director Alain Corre.
"It takes time for a machine to establish itself," he told MCV in a new pre-E3 interview.
"We've seen in the past that when more games come, the console picks up. That is what we believe will happen for Wii U. There is a place in the market for each console, and with the right games Wii U will find its public and sell in the long-term."
Ubisoft has kept Wii U as part of its multiplatform strategy with Rayman Legends, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Assassin's Creed IV and Watch Dogs all confirmed for the console.
Corre said: "One single game can change a platform's fortunes - it happened for the DS, it happened for the Super Nintendo. I believe it can be the same for Wii U."
