For a few days now, when ever I go to start firefox, it wont start. It just shows an hour glass, then the hour glass goes away. I've tried to reinstall it, but it still wont work. Any suggestions?

Hmmm.....
Did it ask you to update it before it stopped working?

if you have a modem, like for comcast or whatever, make sure that it is on.

lol, yes my modem is on, if it wasent, i wouldnt be on the internet right now. i updated to the latest version when it stopped working, but ive used it after i updated

EDIT: Nevermind, i got it to work. i clicked on Firefox (safe mode) in the programs menu, then the regular firefox started working again. i dont know why it started working, but im not gonna look a gift hoarse in the mouth. (its a saying)

Hrms, I dont know if it would stop another instance working, but occasionaly I get a firefox process that just kinda hangs around (hogging memory) after I close the app.

Ctrl+Alt+Del, processes tab, look for firefox.exe and end the process if u have the issue again, will probably fix it.

I would have to disagree there,

Although I am a budding Firefox user, everything is not as it seems with mozilla. Like that they do make money. Also have you seen the RAM firefox uses? I have been thinking of switching to opera. Just haven't got round to it.

It uses 97MB on my PC. Is that normal?

yeh around normal. It varies, on mine its 155mb but I have manu add-ons. But thats still quite alot for a internet browser o.O

Whoa! That's a bit too much! Opera certainly is faster than Firefox as I use that too in case Firefox decides it wants to hibernate.

Heh, it does have memory leak issues I believe.

I do like firefox though, and I never presumed that it didn't make money... After all, Mozilla have been around since the Amiga days, so I doubt they'd keep going fundless.
