I saw this on the new pj64 page. I wanted to post it as news but I couldn't figure out how to embed Google videos.
Anyway, this is crazy :) .

I saw it ages ago (August I think), it was done with an emulator...

...the actual Mario 64 game isn't as glitchy as an emulated version

surely that's not possible!?
You have to have at the very least 60 something stars to open the door to bowsers layer.
17 minuets.

Surely that not possible. he would have had to have got a star like every 15-20 seconds

NO way, who ever did this is either really professional or a complete cheater

I just saw the video
The guy takes every shortcut known
And he/she is quite good.

Like a deranged monkey ninja man
But they did indeed do it.

I just finished it. Maann, that boy got skillz. I also saw some where a video of some one beating SMB3 in 12 min, I heard that it may be a fake, but never the less, here it is if you interested.

I'd love to see this done on a real N64 or even Wii VC.
Half those tricks are not even possible without a glitchy emulator.

Worst speed run ever.

wrong. every trick he did was a glitch that can be proformed in the real n64.
and dude emulators dont make a game have those kinda glitches. their just coding mistakes and stuff

how did he do that (dial-up, can't watch video). did he actually get any stars...?

Chameleon

He got like 15 or so, but he skated through the game
using glitches to his benefit

The glitches thing isn't the bad part, but he used an emulator in slow motion as well as save states (so he probably spent a week doing it =P).

After seeing it all the way through, he could probably have gotten it up to 5 seconds faster, in the parts where he does that backwards butt bounce up stairs.

he does pull off some sweet stuff though, even it was in slow motion alot of people probably couldnt do it that well

considering the ability to used saved states though, he basically had unlimited times to make sure that each portion was as fast as possible. I admire the dedication, but not the skill.

Yeah your right, at first glance i thought this kid must be a crackhead or something... but than i thought about the obvious things he could have done to accomplish it.

Thisone is faster

http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=-1583414283815276333&q=mario+64+in+under

but still done with glitches, which is cheating...

...I recommend to whoever that if they want to do a speed run of a game that they do it on an original console version of a game and not on an emulator, speed runs are ok to watch at first but there are so many online that they're boring to watch as they're all done on emulators (which don't play like consoles)

Now this was some crazy S***

Very, but Tool-Assisted slowdown and taking advantages of all the known working glitches for his/her emulator

Buddy4point0

CRAZY!
even at like 1fps and glitches and shit most of us still couldnt do that

Well I think its pretty amazing. I didn't know about a lot of those short cuts. The bunny one caught me off guard when he didn't get that star.

even with tool assists though, this was some pretty crazy shit to watch. just cuz of the fact that he was all over the place.
