An initial wave of screenshots from NecroVision, a PC first-person shooter in development at The Farm 51, have been released. The game is using the engine that powered FPS Painkiller, so expect plenty of physics craziness.

NecroVision's storyline blends a World War One setting with horror, with the conflict occurring simultaneously with battle between demonic forces and vampires in the "underground worlds". We're still getting our head around that one, but anyway you get plonked into the middle of all this chaos as a young American chap who ends up fighting on both fronts and aiding the undead in fighting off the demon hordes and saving mankind.

Publisher Cenega, which has signed the title, elaborates, "Sceneries range from realistic to dream-like, opponents from enemy troops to fantasy creatures - old fashion look and style of the game is going to remind the world setting from the Lovecraft's horrors and seamlessly mix the war shooter elements into it.

"Player will fight enemies using environments, powerful and evil artifacts, vampire technology, and authentic WWI era weapons."

A release date for NecroVision is yet to be set in stone.

Necrovision looks like it's gonna rock. I'm wondering if they will make it for PS3 and 360 too.

Nice. Painkiller was a pretty decent game that seemed to be mostly ignored.
