2002: Microsoft releases Dungeon Siege for PC in the US. This game was fantastic, until you realized that your pack mule could die and that meant you no longer had a pack mule. But then you'd stare at the hot chick on the box again, and you'd never even remember your pack mule or that you named her after your favorite aunt.

2005: Eidos releases LEGO Star Wars for all the consoles in the whole Universe. It's like combining the best parts of my childhood with the worst parts of my adulthood. I don't know what that means, but it has a perfect balance of ambiguity and parallel structure, so I'm rolling with it.
