View Full Version : [PSP] 3.10 OE top_menu Hacked !!

That's right, you read the title correctly. ZiNgA BuRgA has successfully got a custom top_menu (icons) up and running on 3.10 OE firmware.

For some time now the scene has been split between 3.03 & 3.10 OE firmwares, because a custom top_menu (which makes custom XMB icons possible) would cause a 3.10 OE PSP to brick.

With this breakthrough, the is really no reason not to update to 3.10 OE now.

ZiNgA has said that his new top_menu is exclusively for his forum members for now. And he asks that no other site host his files. But it is ok to link to his forums.And People are encouraged to join. :)

He said he would put together a public release soon.

dam you beat me to it lol. I may upgrade to 3.10 OE now but i might just wait till the network icon is fixed if I can't see it and theres a blank spot it will drive me craazy.

Truly, this is fantastic...
EDIT:Well, I just tried it out with the vista theme released earlier on this website, and it didn't quite work, I actually bricked:( ...thankfully recovery mode was still working:rolleyes: , but I am not gonna try that again...lol

if u did this wouldnt you need to decompress it? so we can edit everything on 3.10 with the decrpter? i would try this out but i heard of some problem with the network icon or something.

can u delete the item as well using this or do they leave a big gap, cos i just want to delete the items i don't even use plus going into flash and deleting the right file to disable them as well lol

sorry, but I'm not touching this with a ten foot pole, this is the only psp I'm getting, i need to spend the other money on other stuff and junk.

Nice work to the finder of this exploit. Still seems like a bit of a useless hassle to upgrade though. I wonder if DA will somehow incorperate this into 3.30 if he finds out about it.

No... It's not released publicly yet...

ZiNgA just made this statement on his forums moments ago:



UPDATED to v4 which seems to fix the Jap region issue! Well, from what I can see, it seems that everything _should_ work now, but I can't guarantee it, so for now, it's gonna stay in EP for about 1 or 2 days, just to see if any more glitches turn up, before I release it to other sites :)

So is this confirmed working? I haven't updated to 3.10 cause of the custom xmb, and it would take an hour to make the update file (Sony memstick).

Yeah I have this working on my brother's PSP right now. Lol I used his PSP to test..poor. Anyway it went good. It's working fine.

... You do realise that you can't fully brick by flashing a topmenu?

Very easy to do and only takes ~3 minutes to complete (remove shadows/glows as well).

Because he has a life. He runs his own forums, as well as being a Forum MOD at psp-hacks. If your too lazy to sign up for a (free) account on his forums, then to hell with you. :mad:

He kept it on his forums untill he was sure it was bug free. Now at version 4, its bug free & released.

So thanks for calling one of the scenes top contributors an "ahole".
