hi
im new to gps stuff so please help.
im planning to buy PSP GPS-290
yahoo,msn,google maps doesnt cover my country
so i got garmin mapsource
is there anyway to convert garmin maps to make it work with mapthis ? did anyone tried ?:confused:

in the garmin forlder i found .img files
the garmin program allow me to "save as" to .gdb ver1 , .gdb ver2
.txt . mps .dxf .gpx
there is no option for "export"
anybody heard of program gpsmapedit ? would that solve the problem?

Unlike most garmin devices, MapThis uses image tiles (not vector maps). so any of the vector formats that Garmin usually offers would not work directly.

If you find a way, to convert your garmin maps to a set of png/jpeg images (for the area that you are interested in), you can them use MapCruncher and gmdl tool to convert them to a format suatable to mathis and align it with gps data. I have mapcrunch my area ... and now what ... manage to run and play around with GMDL ...
Did select mapcrunch and VE as my browser ... how to select the map that I have already mapcrunch?
