lol, blu ray is crap....lol

hd-dvd = 17gb-30gb (single-dual [there is in theory a triple layer-51gb) for $17.00 USD

blu-ray = 60gb+ for $20.00 USD

blu-ray comes with ps3 (so we will say players cost 500 USD)

hd-dvd is an addon for xbox for $200 USD (on top of that 300-400 USD you allready spent)

blu-ray is backed by every company (basically)

hd-dvd has microsoft, intel, toshiba

hmm. would i rather watch casino royalle (for free) or watch king kong (with the 200 USD add on)

lol, blu ray sucks lmao yea ok. if you would rather pick king kong you are retarded

but thats the thing.
i dont really care for all of those things.
im not gonna buy a ps3 or xbox.
if i want to watch a movie. i buy the dvd.
no need to waste extra money on some other expensive disc.

DVD's went through the same thing when it was released in replacement of vcr.

in 5 years your going to be moaning about the same thing because 'green-ray' is so much more expencive than blu-ray.

move with the times man, blu-ray is far better than DVD. it will replace them soon.

kcajblue

not right now though. maybe later.

strait mofo up. blu ray is allready out selling hd-dvd 3 to 1.

if dvd was ok, why would they expand on it? Because people want more!! better quality, more features, ect.

Really, I don't care for Blu-Ray. It has no better graphical advantages, but it carries more space. So?

Just make games that swap disks. Im not too lazy to just changes the disks every 12 or so hours of gameplay.

Another thing is, people say how great the Blu-Ray is. Is there Nothing else good about the PS3? We don't talk about HD-DVD because there are so many other great features of 360. The PS3 has potential, but get rid of Blu-Ray.

Triv1um

Hmmm..

- ps3 has free internet play (no shitty 'live' that make you pay stupid prices)
- built in wifi (no forking out money for a wifi receiver)
- Better graphics
- better controllers (my opinion)
- ability to run other os (linux)

this list goes on.

and blu-ray is one of those too.

---

oh and i havent had my casino royal yet.

Awesome, i don't like the tab on the case though, but thats just been pretty damn picky :P

Awesome picture quality, and from what i watched of it (like half) its a great movie.

that would be badass.

BLU-RAY SUCKS! mwahahahahahaha!
nah blu ray would be pretty good, but it and hddvd are practically the same, so i really don't care. i don't even have an hd tv so no point right now for me (may get a 360 hddvd drive eventually). still i will probs wait and see which format "wins" as ms said they would support bluray if it did anyway so that would be the cheapest way for me if i waited for a 360 add on drive.

still my money is on hddvd. blu ray is on top right now but when it comes down to it most consumers will just buy what they know, so they will see the word dvd and take that rather than something new with a funny name.

^did you read my post about blu ray vs. hd dvd?

gdf
April 22nd, 2007, 17:54
yes.

most of your points were good but of no importance to me.

i don't really care about either right now. still what difference does having 40gb of space left on a disc make? that is hardly an advantage.

1. All the current Blu-Ray discs being used right now are the singe layer 25 gb ones.
2. The picture quality isn't all that better than DVD (same with HD DVD.)
3. Blu-Ray isn't backed by every company, this is something Sony says (and we all know how trustworthy they are.)
4. I would way rather watch King Kong than Casino Royale. King Kong was a great movie, Casino Royale is just mindless action, but I guess that's what you like.

Sorry, but I just HAD to reply to that post :)
