Nintendo has launched a US promotion offering bonuses when a user adds funds to their Wii U (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/nintendo-wii-u/games/12079/wii-u/) eShop account.

The offer is open (http://club2.nintendo.com/rebate/?om_rid=AACgMx&om_mid=_BR7dqcB80CqYli&eid=EM10116#.Ue8iA2hkjGn) until July 28. Those who add funds will receive a promotional code for the extra credit on August 2.
The promotion coincides with the August release of Pikmin 3, which has so far accrued unanimously positive reviews (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/420181/pikmin-3-review-round-up-tallest-tree-in-the-wii-u-library/).
We wrote that Pikmin 3 "might persuade you to buy a Wii U, but it won't make you love it."
Nintendo is running a similar promotion (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/418372/3ds-eshop-30-free-for-registering-fire-emblem-shin-megami-tensei/) for the 3DS, offering US gamers $30 eShop credit to anyone who purchases and registers either Fire Emblem Awakening and Shin Megami Tensei IV.
