First of all, thanks for the GDML. It is great.

Just some issues that I have with GDML.

How can I not download 1x maps? (1x maps are sometimes not useful.)

And I can't create GPSFS files using 2048x maps.

If I rename 2048x maps as 1024x maps (1024x as 512x and so on), will it work? Will the scale be off?

And lastly, is it possible to add maps from sites like http://www.streetdirectory.com and/or maps from MapKing, Garmin etc?

Again. Thanks a lot of GDML.

Why don't you change the zoom range in the advanced tab? (ie: just don't dounload the most detailed level)
You should be able to 'gpsfs" 2048x maps - it worked for me some time ago (when I checked)

You can import and GPS align other maps with gmdl and MapCruncher software... It's a bit tricky by was already explained in gmdl release thread..

Hi deniska!

Thanks for your reply and MapThis.

For some reason, I could not generate GPFS with 2048x. After I removed the folder, I could generate GPFS. I will see what I can do when I get home.

BTW, MapThis seems to keep reading the memory stick when there is no map available (say when 1x maps are opened but they aren't available). Is this a problem with MapThis or my PSP?

Thanks again.

This is not really a problem - just a desicion for cacheing implementation...
I don't think it would do that with gpsfs maps...

BTW, you may need to disable
CACHEMAPINDEX in config (=0) to be able to display large maps...

It would be really nice if its possible to uncheck the 1x zoom, since it takes ages and tons of disk space for big maps like a country.
And I think 1x Zoom is too big if you drive by car, because everything is so tiny.

edit: ok I changed it by myself in the source
pretty usefull :D

I don't think you understand that fact that you can set your min and max zooms to any value.
So you can make your 1x to be either street level, state or continent...
I provided a sample world map (~30MB) with one of the earlie releases ....

I thought you were talking about the zoom levels in the window of the detailed map selection if you download a map, where you can choose between 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16.... and you uncheck the picture boxes.
In version 0.4.15b im not able to uncheck the 1x zoom level and the biggest zoom level, which depends on the level of zoom in Google Maps.
If I like to create a map of Germany, the numer of files in 1x zoom would be over 25 million and, which will take too much disk space and time to download.
