Did you get an inconspicuous envelope from Sony lately? We're skeptical because we haven't been informed of the initiation of the Home beta, but a random person over at the PlayStation forums (http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3home&thread.id=12019) has decided to heat up the interweb with this simple, poorly constructed claim: "hay if you did not get your copy of the PS3 home disc for down load you are not in the beta test sorry but i got mine yesterday". Wherever did proper grammar go?

Anyway, we've yet to see confirmation or the denial of such a claim, so we're leaving it to you, our famous readers! Has anyone else gotten a disc of the beta in the mail? Or did you get a download disc some other way? Shoot a picture of it, send it our way. Because we've not gotten/seen anything.

That's definitely a lie, this thread would be packed if it was true.

Yea I think so to. You guys also did a post a while back when home was announced and gave this http://www.homebetatrial.com/ site to look at for details and even that site still has not announced any new information yet. I still check it everyday.

Straight form the homebeta site:

Keep checking back on this site to register an interest in taking part in an exclusive closed Beta Trial of Home™

Something tells me they'd have mentioned registration even being open there first.

Well to shed some light on this, I am a member of the official forums and there is "The Unofficial I got invited to Home Beta" thread and there are 9 pages of supposed people who have gotten invites.

Now, I will say these two things:

1)Its likely that if all these people got invites, they actually did get them. Not to mention, if Home is coming out in October, that leaves Sony about 6 months to beta test, something they are going to need to do extensively.

2)Considering the ignorance and lack of respect that a majority of users on those boards possess, it is within the realm of possibility that they are all joking to get one big laugh.

Why do I say the latter? Because I have seen many threads asking honest questions where people give outrageous, yet within the realm of possibility answers, that are clearly inaccurate. As well, the common response from these types to people asking about problems they have with their PS3 is "I heard pissing into the vents helps correct that."

I'd like to believe the former is the more accurate statement, but considering it is the official Playstation Forums, I would be hard pressed to believe it.
