Yeah, this post doesn't really explain what the Wii hack is specifically...you need to have soldered a Serial Port onto the back of your Wii.
I've got instructions linked off my Wii blog, http://www.wiispond.com. It's a pretty difficult mod but it's definitely worth it - having the ability to modify your Wii's firmware has implications that stretch beyond just executing homebrew...
