Activision CEO expects to see more innovation and new experiences on next-gen consoles

The lifecycle of the PS4 And Xbox One will be as long as the current generation of consoles, says the CEO of Activision.
The PS3 and Xbox 360 were launch in 2005 and 2006, making the eight-year cycle the longest in console history, and Bobby Kotick has said he expects the same from new hardware.

Speaking during the publisher’s earnings call, as reported by GamesIndustry (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2013-08-01-activisions-kotick-confident-next-gen-will-bring-new-innovation), Bobby Kotick said he felt consumers were as excited about the new generation of hardware as the previous cycle.
He added that, thanks to an improvement in hardware and new features, developers were able to innovate and create “new kinds of software that has not been available in the current generation”.
“My sense is consumers are going to be excited about this hardware and I think over the long-term that it will probably be as long as the current cycle,” he stated.
