Any open source billiards/ pool/ snooker that could be brought over to DC, or any news on someone already doing a pool game, possibly from scratch that i'm not aware of? Also, are there any pinballs (runners or tables) that could be ported over? i'm not a coder, i'm just asking. Thanks in advance for info.

I found a pool game that is C++ and open too, i believe, its called Free Pool, and it's here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/freepool/

does anyone think this is portable?

You can browse the source here:

I had a quick look and it's obvious that they're aiming for portability: OpenGL, SDL, TrueType, etc.

Having said that, I have no idea if the Dreamcast ports of those libraries are complete, or whether the use of threads, STL, exceptions, etc. in this game would cause problems with the tool-chain(s) that people use these days.

I dont believe True Type is available in the library as that would be one known part not portable. Supposebly Chui's SDL has a new OpenGL in the Library but its unknown how much is available. C++ is fully portable but some coders have trouble. Game looks great but it would be truly hard to port. Sorry for the long wait have been pretty busy.
