DS Mouse v0.3 A Updated

Dankredues (http://palib.info/forum/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?forum=28&post_id=18299#forumpost18299) has updated his app that lets you use your DS as a mouse on a PC:

heres whats new:


Now DS Mouse only uses the port 111.
Also there is no need for recompilation. Just type in your ip at DS Mouse startup.
For clicking use the "A" Button.
Server app in english.

It's alright, though it only uses a portion of my desktop and I can't use my regular mouse at the same time. Good start though.

This doesn't seem to work for the R4DS; it goes blank immediately after launching.

It doesn't go blank on my R4, but it still won't do anything after I input my IP. What version are you using? I'm on 1.10.

EDIT: Never mind, it's not working. I'm gonna try it on my GnM.

I use 1.11. I don't even get the screen to type the IP.

I was getting to that screen earlier, but now its not working and I don't know what I did differently.

EDIT: Now all of the sudden it's working again. :P I'll try to find out what I'm doing differently.

EDIT2: Got past the IP screen, and it's working great, but I think it's either lagging or it froze.

It works on my R4, v1.11, though i can't get it to actually work.

That is, the program on my DS runs fine, the capture program on my pc runs fine, but the 2 dont seem to be communicating proprely.

Sounds like you got your IP address wrong or maybe a firewall is blocking it. Turn off all of your firewalls. What is your IP?

Under ipconfig it gives me 192.168.1.100, which is a generic ip for the network im useing.

Is there another ipconfig command i can use to locate something abit more specific?

Why kind of router are you using? I don't think it will work if you're using a USB Wi-Fi connector. Try entering 192.168.1.1 into your web browser to access your router settings, and forward port 111.

Yeah, but it's not perfect yet. For me it freezes after about 30 seconds, and it randomly freezes upon startup.

To see more ip addresses and other stuff type "ipconfig /all" in command prompt just w/o the quotes

Although the link given in this forum does not extract all the file properly I manage to Install it fine.

One problem.

The application worked briefly for me, than it froze.


I managed to move the mouse cursor on the Ds once, and seen the cursor respon on my PC screen than it froze.

Needs lot of improvement otherwise it is a neat app.

It works for me, but the axis is shifted so that I can't use the mouse on the bottom 1.5" of my screen, nor the right 1" of my screen (computer screen, that is). Also, I can't hold A and drag a program or an icon. It'd be great for L to be a clicker, and the up button on the D-pad to be a right-click. This is great for simple tasks, but only to that specified area of the axis, but it does only basic mouse tasks... more basic than the most basic of mouse tasks, anyway.

Everything works fine here (although a few blank screens at start, but it started working once I had a valid wifi connection).

Except it freezes (or the connection dies out) after 30 seconds or so.

It works perfectly for me on my iTouch DS. It's a bit laggy and the bottom inch or two of my computer screen cannot be accessed by the DS. If I go to the very top of my touch screen, I get to the very bottom of the computer screen, so use that to change between windows.
