Yellow Dog Linux v5.0.1 for the Sony Computer Entertainment PLAYSTATION(R)3
adds greater than 500 package updates to v5.0 and now includes support for
built-in wireless!

Yellow Dog Linux v5.0.1 offers:
- Support for the Sony PS3.
- More than 500 updated packages.
- Built-in Wi-Fi now supported.
- USB printers fixed.
- The bootloader is now included on the DVD.

This is great news to hear, I've been thinking to install Linux on my PS3. Hearing that Wi-Fi support has been added now makes me want to get this even more.

you don't need to format.

the installer will format the partition for you.

just run it like you did before.

Someone working on Yellow Dog told me that Sony is making the drivers for Wifi available to anyone that wants them so I am pretty sure that they will be implemented into Ubuntu pretty soon. Until then I am just going to let my old ubuntu sit on my PS3 and not go through the process of going from Ubuntu to YDL and back to Ubuntu.

Well I still use it on my 3 computers, so NEVER =)

I am still running ubuntu on it waiting for the drivers.
