[404 Error]

Okay here the situation. I have a Japanese PSP on Firmware 3.40 OE-A . I can't seem to get the topmenu_plugin.rco modification to work. Every time I try the standard background loads but no XMB icons appear so it just turns off. :mad:

Maybe you are using 3.03 icons?

That could be the reason you are semi-bricking.

Im definatly using 3.40 Oe-a icons because I just downloaded the black_aruziah icons today.

If you are TOTALLY sure.
Do this....

Enter recovery mode --> Access USB flash0 --> (in your computer) VSH --> resource --> overwrite the topmenu_plugin in there.

If that doesnt work, its the icons problem.

Dude,I couldn't get those icons to work either on 3.40oe.There are several icon sets that say 3.40 that just don't work for me.

yep those icons are for 3.03. the link may have said otherwise but meh.. their not. try different icons for 3.40.

wait, black aruziah you say? im using those right now on 3.40 OE-A lol. i'll upload mine off mah psp in a sec.

Just for kicks heres my custom xmb:
(now if I can just learn to hex edit those font colors I'll be straight)

it still wont work? im assuming that you made a backup of you flash-- reset everything in your flash to default. reflash 3.40 OE if you gotta cause my topmenu isnt the issue. its something else.

Those icons would look awesome if they were all like the memory stick icon.

Black with a red glow, i might work on it.

Maybe you have a Japanese PSP so topmenu needs to be converted differently.
