Hi Deniska,

I understand your GPSviewer is set up for Holux GPSlim236 so it must be configured at 38400 baud. I does not seem to be configurable.

Is there a version for general serial GPS at 4800 baud?

I made up a cable for my old yellow extrex to use MapThis. At first I could not make it to work. I spent hours and hours trying to figure out why and then it daunted on me the change the config.txt to 4800 baud and voila!

tthe FAQ has a few links to help troubleshoot the cable connection...
If you search forum you should be able to find a version of a test program for 4800 baud...
Also, when you test with mapThis - make sure that you use the holux (generic) version.

Can any one point me to the place to download the 4800 baud version of the green GPS Viewer?

The search function in these forums does not seem to work. I looked thorugh almost all the posts in the last few days and have downloaded Deniska's posted link but it was still the 38400 Holux version.

I know it can be recompiled but I am not up to it.

Also, the green GPS Viewer (for Holux) cannot be closed. I could not find any button to switch it off and I have to take the battery out every time. No one seems to mention this so there must be a way so I must be missing something.

Thanks.

gps.zip (34.1 KB, 83 views) ?

That was where I found the supposedly 4800 baud version posted by Deniska.
But it is still the Holux one and works only with Holux.

BTW I have read that thread (33 pages) over and over again and still could not find what I was looking for.

Once again, how can I exit/turn off the GPSViewer without having to remove the battery?

I believe the EBOOT.PBP is compiled with 4800 as baud(I am not sure what you mean by holux version...

If you hold your Off switch for 4-5 seconds - it should reset your PSP w/o taking out batteries...

I thought it was the 4800 baud version.
But it is still the Holux one showing GPSlim 236 Viewer. It does not work with other GPS, only Holux 236, because I also have a Holux.

I have downloaded it many times and it is still the same.
May be there is a mixed up in the link?
Why not use a different name to a different version, like gps4800.zip or something like that?
