Metal Gear Solid 4 will now not see the light of day, in the US at least, until March 2008 if reports from major US games retailer, EB Games prove to be accurate.

Customers who have signed up for updates on the progress of Konami's stealth stunner have, according to Gameswank, received and email notifying them that the games release has slipped from September 1 2007 to March 1 2008.

Retailers' release dates aren't always accurate, but this is worrying news for PS3 owners. We'll be contacting Konami for confirmation at a more feasible time in the morning.

How is it worrying news?

would you want a rushed out early game

or a good late released game?

Its worrying because it has long been the assumption that MGS4 would be the bolster in PS3 sales that Sony needs and now that its coming out AFTER Christmas of 07, it won't have the same impact.

I hope this is inaccurate, because Sony cannot afford to have shitty Christmas sales.

This game will truly showcase the power and ability of the PS3. I can't wait for it and I hope this is untrue.

if this is true it is going to rip sonys balls off.

Sony need a few big games with huge fanbases before christmas, or they won't sell as well as the should/could.

its not worrying, this is actually good news. The more time they have the better the MGS4 is going to be.

Yeah from the game's standpoint delays are better than being rushed. But considering how important MGS4 is, and knowing that it now won't make the Christmas lineup, I feel that Sony will suffer this Christmas.
