I have a question about the corrupted files on my 1.50 psp. Is there anyway to hide them or something? Fo example, I have 2 NesterJ files one with % and one without it. The one without % is corrupted but needed to run the program. Is there anyway to hide it so that it doesn't show up on the psp but still works? Thnx (srry, i'm new to 1.50 FW)

probably should update to 3.40 OE-A and go to the recovery and hide corrupted icons and 3.40 OE-A is so much better than 1.5

__SCE__[name of file] and %__SCE__[name of file] (for the %)

Does that really work?^^^

Indeed, it does. I used to use that naming convention before I upgraded to custom firmware :)

Also about the custom firmwares. Is there anyway to go back to 1.50 once you are on one. I'm a liitle confused about them. Also, how does recovery mode work?

-Yes, just download 1.50 EBOOT.PBP (re-name it to UPDATE.PBP), create a RECOVERY dir in game, and put UPDATE.PBP in the RECOVERY dir. Access to the recovery menu and run the application.

-Work great for me, all you have to do is hold [R] when you turn it on...

What are the chances of a brick on OE compared to 1.50

Cloudhunter
May 18th, 2007, 22:19
The chances are drastically reduced, as by using recovery mode you can recover from things that would kill your 1.50 PSP.

what do you mean by updating to the custom firmware because its very slim if you have everything in the right place

parkermauney
May 18th, 2007, 22:21
With a recovery, that makes it almost 100 times less likely to brick. I highly recomend it.

EDIT: Gah, two posts before mine even showed up. :D

I jus watched a video and the recovery mode looked alot like the downgrader i used for 3.03. Could it brick my psp like they said the downgrader could? I'm just a little scared that my psp will brick.

its really alright you really wont even want 1.5 back after you get 3.40 OE-A its has all the same features as 1.5 plus a bunch bunch more stuff but downgrading probably will be really safe but once u get to a custom firmware ur not going to want to go back trust me

I know this is a dumb question but, do all of the custom firmwares support all the homebrew that the 1.50 does? Also does anyone have a link to an installer for the 3.03 OE-A? Thnx I really just don't want to upgrade to it and have it brick or not run homebrew which took me a very long wait to get.
If you recomend 3.40 OE firmware over 3.03 OE then tell me. Also is it possible to brick the psp while upgrading to the custom firmware if you follow all the instructions exatly as they say?

Thnx for all your help

-Yes, since custom firmwares have 1.50 kernal + the original kernal

-Try this: 3.40 OE-A (http://www.google.com/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:es-AR:official) or 3.40 OE-A (psp-news.dcemu.co.uk)

-You wont...

-I will tell you that 3.40 OE is much better than 3.03 OE

-there is a 0.02% of bricking if you follow the instruction (if you battery dead, if there is a fire in your house, atomic bomb...) and 25% of briking if you have a fake memory stick....

-You welcome

I tried creating a GAME150 folder next to the regular GAME folder and put irshell150 and irshell150% in it and it still doesn't work. I think its because i'm placing the irshell folder in the wrong place. It says to put it in the mem stick, so i put it in MP_ROOT. Am i doing something wrong? I'm using IRshell 3.00

parkermauney

The root of the memstick is the begining of it. Where the PSP MP_ROOT PICTURE VIDEO MUSIC folders are. And don't double post.

Sry, I don't use IRShell that much. Next, you should try playing psx games! You're sure to find a tutorial somewhere.

Try here!

Maybe in a special program, but BACKUP YOUR FLASH0 AND FLASH1 BEFORE INSTALLING ANY THEME OR SOMETHING, ITS ILLEGAL TO ASK FOR FLASH0 OR FLASH1 FILES...

I dont know
