I am going to make a bad guess here:
You *might* be using a psp-290 gps module
so you *might* be missing the usbacc.prx and usbgps.prx files
You *might* want to search for them (located in a ton of threads) and place them in the /psp/game330/mapViewer directory

Give us a little more info on what you have and how your setup and we can give better help

i am using the sony 290 accessory, and i do not have a game330 folder i have a game150 folder?

May 23rd, 2007, 17:55
in your /psp/game150 directory, do you have:
mapViewer and mapViewer% directories?

What do you have in mapViewer directory?
If you dont see usbacc.prx and usbgps.prx files then this (most likely) is your issue

These files are in the threads here somewhere - I think the one I downloaded was called:
303+271.zip or maybe 271+303.zip

Place the 2 files in your mapViewer directory and you should be good to go

Ok, so I had to fight tooth and nail to get this thing working, been working on it, between the maps, and the gps unit for like 2 weeks.... but finally it is working. so it is worth it, but it is hard to figure out at times. which is no wonder since it is beta homebrew running on a hacked platform... considering that it is awesome!! and well worth your patience and persistance.

It sounds like you may need to provide more informaion like the following....

what version of map this are you using?
what type of gps accessory do you have?
what eboot file are you using?
do you have a t-82/86 motherboard?
what folder is your mapviewer folder in on your memory stick?

Try answering those questions, and I will see if I can help ya. It is kinda hard to get this thing working... but Ill try to help.

Using: Mapthis 0.497Beta
GPS: Sony-290
EBOOT: PSP 2-90 Eboot
Mobo: Dont Know
Folder: Game150

also there are 2 file that show up in the games menu on the psp 2 map this programs?

FatesWebb

try copying over your mapthis to the game folder... instead of the game150, you dont need the % folder... and testing...

also test using the gps-290 tester and see if it sees any satellites.... this will help you determine if your issue with with the usb or not.

did you add the usb prx files to the map this folder? be sure to add them, best to add the ones from your version of the firmware...

ok the gps program is working!

now hopw do i get MAP of UK on there i dont think it can find any signal?

FatesWebb
May 23rd, 2007, 20:15
you have to use the gmdl to download the map..... it is a whole another ballpark... you want to make sure to get the latest gmdl, and set it to the area you want to put on there, and then download the maps.... then copy them over to the memory stick...

to see if you can get signals run the gps tester program, and let it run for a while.. . see if it sees any satellites, and if it locks onto any......

check out this thread for information on the gps tester

here is the map downloader

hello
i did the usb psp-290 test and it didnt go any further than saying: Loading usb accessory module... and the memory card light is stuck on.... do i have to have different prx files for 3.30OE?

FatesWebb
May 23rd, 2007, 20:36
you may have problems with your usb.....

I would run the key cleaner to see if it says you have bad keys.... you can find this program for download...

also if you have a t82 or t86 motherboard, then you may need to preform the usbhosts fix.....

this is where it gets hairy...... this can be a real pain to fix, and real frustrating, and even could brick your psp if you mess it up....

djbenny
May 23rd, 2007, 20:40
how do you know what the motherboard is?

and i really dont want to ruin my psp :(

FatesWebb
May 23rd, 2007, 20:46
if you open the umd door then peer into there, you will see letters if it is a t-82

here is a explination on how to tell with pictures

djbenny
May 23rd, 2007, 20:53
its a ta-82 :(

my other psp which i've just sold was a IC6001 but it was 3.11 firmware so i bought another one lol

a good way to test if your usb is working ok, without risking anything, is to load irshell onto it, and try using the usbhostfs...

This is a detailed process in itself... so it is hard to explain how to do that as well... but is is a safe way to test and see if your usb is working properly.

also you can run the key clearner application. it will report any errors with the keys... I would check it and report back before attempting to fix them....

http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1117

just run it, and it will tell you if it detects problems with your keys.... then report back what it found... ( I wouldnt try and fix them yet... )

ok, im at university and that site is blocked :( any mirrors?

FatesWebb
May 23rd, 2007, 21:01
there is this site,

http://konsolenprofis.de/downloads/download.php?id=1643

but I have not tested this site out, so I cannot vouch for the files validity...

djbenny

that programs says the following:

checking IdStorange key...

0*0004...OK
0*0005..Copy of 0004
0*0006..Copy of 0005
0*0008...No Key (code 0*80000025)
0*0041...Copy of 0006
0*0042...Copy of 0041
0*0043..OK
0*0045...Copy of 0047
0*0046...Unknown
0*0047...No Key (code 0*80000025)

PSP is a TA-82/86

Unrecognised key state

O = Exit X = Fix Keys

FatesWebb
May 23rd, 2007, 21:19
I would use that program to dump the keys, then use it to fix the keys, but the thing is it will probably end up not being able to fix one of the keys.... if it cant fix one of the keys, then figure out which one it could not fix... and report back...

NOTE, THIS ACTION REQUIRES IT WRITE TO THE FLASH! ANYTIME YOU HAVE TO WRITE TO FLASH THERE IS A CHANCE THIS WILL BRICK YOUR PSP. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

djbenny
May 23rd, 2007, 21:21
i do not want to brick my psp though!

is Square dump is just has a symbol of a white rectangle

FatesWebb
May 23rd, 2007, 21:22
it is square to dump, x to fix....

djbenny
May 23rd, 2007, 21:24
it says:

unrecognised key state

recommended: restotre keys using memory stick

FatesWebb
May 23rd, 2007, 21:25
does it give you the option to fix automatically, or only via memory stick?

djbenny
May 23rd, 2007, 21:26
only via memory stick

FatesWebb
May 23rd, 2007, 21:26

all are ok except key 47 and 8?

FatesWebb
May 24th, 2007, 18:05
what does it say for 47 and 8? will it allow an auto repair now?

djbenny
May 24th, 2007, 18:07
will not let auto-fix still says unrecognised key state

it says No Key (code0x80000025) for both keys

which are the keys it said it for before

FatesWebb
May 24th, 2007, 18:24
older t-82s dont have a key 8... so that is probably normal,
let me research the other one..

FW

FatesWebb
May 24th, 2007, 18:31
ok yeah you must have an old t-82, because I think that those 2 keys are just not supposed to be there on older t-82s. I think you are fixed....

try the gps-290 tester again, and see if it will see the satellites now.

djbenny
May 24th, 2007, 18:37
just stays on loading usb accessory module on the psp-290 test

djbenny
May 24th, 2007, 18:40
on mapthios it says gps state: On

though before it said off

FatesWebb
May 24th, 2007, 19:56
hmmmm.... test it, if you want to be SURE that your usb if fixed, you can load irshell, and the usbhostfs, and the pc driver for the psp, and test it...

when you connet to the irshell usbhostfs the pc should load the driver correctly, and recognise that the hardware that it detected was a psp, not just a removable storage device... there is a lot to doing this, but if it works, then you know your usb is fixed.

djbenny
May 24th, 2007, 19:59
could it be im inside with a lot of buildings about?

but the test would still work would it not :/

and bwefore you said that that application could brick the psp?

FatesWebb
May 24th, 2007, 21:16
nope, your past the scary part.... no bricks...

yeah you are not going to get any locks inside, or with too many buildings around.

you will have to go outside, and set it down for about 10 minutes to be sure it is working.

what folder is your psp-gp90 test program in? I think it is working, just the test program is not working.

djbenny
May 24th, 2007, 21:45
where can i get these applications?

and its in the game150 folder should i put it in the ganme folder?

djbenny
May 24th, 2007, 21:49
aha it worked but no satellites

indoors

FatesWebb
May 24th, 2007, 22:10
yeah it sounds like it is working, so I would test it outside, if you still want those applications

http://www.irshell.com/

that is where you can find them.

djbenny
May 24th, 2007, 22:12
what do they do?

right noiw i need map of the UK? any help with that?

FatesWebb
May 25th, 2007, 14:02
IRShell is a replacement shell for the PSP, it has all kinds of features... you can load at startup, or from the xmb game menu...

it allows you to have a interface with icons, allows you to store your games/apps/movies/music on your computer and use them as if they were on your memory card, it can be used as a universal remote, it makes it to where you can listen to mp3s while doing anything else you want, it makes it to where you can be playing a game, and tab out of it, to do something in the shell, and then go right back to the game (simple multitasking) really there are so many features I cannot list them all.....

You will have to download the maps using gmdl.... have you tried that yet?
