iPhone maker promises to "brighten everyone's day" at rumored iPhone 5S debut
Recent reports of Apple's next big press briefing (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2013-08-12-new-iphone-reveal-set-for-sept-10) got the "when" right, so now all that remains is the "what."The Verge (http://www.theverge.com/2013/9/3/4689266/apple-iphone-event-september-10th-official) is reporting that Apple has mailed out its official invitations to a September 10 event at Apple's Cupertino, California campus.
The invite features the Apple logo in white against a background of multicolored circles, with the tagline, "This should brighten everyone's day." That tease coincides with one of the rumored announcements for the event, the iPhone 5C. The "C" in the product's name supposedly stands for "color," with the phone available in a variety of bright new hues. Aesthetics aside, the iPhone 5C is reportedly intended as a lower-cost alternative to the standard iPhone 5, one with a plastic backing instead of aluminum.
Beyond that, Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 5S, an upgraded edition of its flagship handset. While the 5S is rumored to be available in gold as well, the big changes are reported to be a fingerprint scanner, as well as improvements to the CPU and camera.
