Everything the iPhone 5 was, just a little bit more colourful.
Apple new iPhone 5c has previously been said to be its budget device to compete against the increasing market of cheaper smartphones.
However at just £100 cheaper than the iPhone 5s, we are not sure if ‘budget’ is the right word.
The newest aspects of this device - which is pretty much just the iPhone 5 (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/fresh-rumours-surrounding-the-iphone-5-reboot/022018) – that are immediately noticeable, is that it is made of plastic and comes in blue, green, pink, yellow or white.
The 5c is built on the A6 chip, and has an 8 megapixel iSight camera like its flagship counterpart.
Apple has said that it comes with more LTE bands that any other smartphone, and obviously runs on the iOS7 platform.
Philip Schiller, senior VP at Apple, said: “iPhone 5c is everything the iPhone 5 was and more, in an all-new design packed with great features. iPhone 5c is designed with a beautiful polycarbonate enclosure that looks and feels so solid in your hand.”
We must admit, it looks nice, and it is refreshing to see an iPhone that has some natural colour to it. However if it is planning on taking on the emerging markets where other lower cost devices are so popular, then it may have some trouble.
The 5c is available with 16GB of memory for £469 and the 32GB model for £549.
The iPhone 4s will still be available for £349, with the iOS7 update being available for it soon. But who wants yesterday’s toys?
