Hi All,

Here is a new release of Portable VNC for Custom FW 3.x only.

For those for haven't seen previous versions, VNC let you access
to your PC desktop from anywhere using a wifi connection.

What's new in version 1.2.5 :

- Real hostname are now supported in the configuration menu !
It should be usefull if you want to connect to your PC from anywhere
and if you have a dynamic IP.
Of course you can still specify a static IP address
- IR Keyboard is now active in all menus
- New keyboard mapping (previous one was very confusing)
- Display help on keys to use for each menu

The IR keyboard support is based on the work of Harald Fielker (author of the PSP IR
Keyboard Library), and the Virtual keyboard is based on the Danzel code.

PSPVNC has been written by NHD from TeamXos, and it's based on the PalmOS VNC client.

It is distributed under GNU licence, and sources are provided.

The IR keyboard part it has been tested using a Targus Universal IR Wireless keyboard.

This should be the last release, only if major bugs are found.

** WARNING **
Host configurations file generated with previous versions are NOT compatible with this one !

Enjoy,

Zx.

you have to copy the pspvnc directory to your psp/game340 folder (if you are in 3.4 fw) or psp/game303 folder (if you are in 3.03 fw) etc ...

heres the one i used to get it working

http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=psp&thread.id=2802824

and what i mean by putting it in the 340 kernel is putting it in the folder located in the psp folder

you should see this folder: GAME340---thats where you put the pspvnc
(if you dont have such a folder, make it)

have fun trying to get this to work, its an awsome app

heres the file path if youre still clueless :p
ms0:\PSP\GAME340<-----psp vnc folder goes into here

BTW THANKS ZX!!! worked perfectly!!!

first copy the pspvnc folder in ms0:/PSP/GAME340, if you dont have the folder then create. get and install the pc application called TIGHTVNC. set your psp to 1.5 kernel in recovery mode. run the tightvnc then the pspvnc. you must set a password to be able to use the tightvnc program

I put it in the Game340 folder and it is freezing at the choose network connection screen...
Anyone else have the same problem?

You know what guys, do not change the setting for the keymap
I changed it to 20 (Palm keyboard) and default.ini and it was freezing like i was mentioning

if you have a wifi connection you shouldnt have a problem in the network connection screen, it should display your connection name or SSID. then press the O/X to continue.

it was freezing because I changed the keymap to "20" palm and targus.ini to default.ini

Btw, is there anyway to minimize the lagging? It is lagging quite badly for it to be of any good use. I have the mirror driver installed already. On the other hand, if I were to try to control my PC from another location (school), is it possible? Or is it limited to my own router only?

i didnt change anything and there's no problem, it didnt lag at all. try to recopy the pspvnc to return to original state.

about in different location i guess it wouldnt be a problem, the only thing is you will get another connection from the other access point and another installation of tightvnc

i dont think it will work from other locarions because its your houses ip, not your internet ip

like i said so.. you'll connect into another access point on another location... means a different ip add/ssid.. and another tightvnc installation on another pc... pls read and understand S#!tS!!!

You need to install a custom firmware (for example 3.71 or 3.90-m33) and put it then in game371 or game380 folder on your PSP.
