The 3DS, Vita, Wii and PS2 versions of FIFA 14 (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/xbox-one/sports/13211/fifa-14/) will add only new kits and player transfers over their previous instalments, with no new modes or gameplay improvements, EA has confirmed.
All four versions are titled FIFA 14: Legacy Edition, and will feature the same gameplay and modes as the previous year's title with the only changes being updated squad rosters and kits.

The details were confirmed today via a Nintendo eShop press release listing the 'Legacy Edition' version for 3DS.
The description, provided to Nintendo by EA, reads: "FIFA 14 Legacy Edition delivers unmatched authenticity that reflects the current football season with updated kits and rosters but no updates to gameplay or game modes."
This echoes comments made by EA's David Rutter last month (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/426114/fifa-14-ps-vita-to-again-feature-same-gameplay/) which appeared to suggest the Vita version would again arrive as a repackaged version of previous instalments.
Last year fans expressed their disappointment that the Vita version of FIFA 13 included no significant differences from its predecessor FIFA Football (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/370672/fifa-13-ps-vita-draws-fan-criticism/), itself based on FIFA 11 gameplay.
Similarly, the Wii version of FIFA 13 was revealed to be all but identical to FIFA 12 (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/385833/features/fifa-13-wii-vs-fifa-12-wii-the-shocking-truth/) with only kit and squad changes made.
Last year's Wii, 3DS and Vita versions were missing the 'Legacy Edition' moniker, which has seemingly been added this year to make it clearer that no gameplay changes have been made.
The FIFA 14 release date (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/408713/fifa-14-release-date-pre-order-incentives-confirmed/) is set at September 24 in North America and September 27 throughout Europe. Xbox One (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/xbox-one/games/12528/xbox-one/) and PS4 (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/392432/playstation-4-is-official-sonys-most-powerful-platform-ever-launching-holiday-2013/) versions of the game will be available when the consoles launch in November.
