The R4DS has had it's kernel updated to version 1.10. Changes in this release feature:
1) DLDI auto-patching
2) Solved the 1111 and 1151 save problem.

Download (http://www.r4ds.net/download/English-1.10.rar)

DLDI auto-patching should come in quite handy to many, so grab this update while it's hot!

what is this for and how you do it?

This is firmware for a slot-1 (ds-slot) device called R4.
Buy R4 here: http://www.bamboogaming.com/flash-cards/other-brand/r4-ds-free-shipping-/prod_102.html

To use, you copy the files onto your microsd card, then put the card in the R4. R4 can play homebrew, music, movies, images, and roms.

The only thing the R4 firmware needs now is the ability to host DS Download Play.

This sticky (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=54281) is pointless now.

I tried playing Super Metroid. It still doesn't play correctly. :( The background flashes, and is very annoying.

The one that goes in the ds slot and doesn't require something in the ds slot? Because that sucks

R4 doesn't need anything in the ds slot, but it has much better compatibility. :)

Need a fix for the m3 simply :(

This is why people say that the R4 is better. We get the updates quicker :)

The newer R4s and M3 Simplys can use either firmware. If it is R4, you solder 2 points, and if you have a M3 Simply, you destroy the connection between 2 points.

It already does for some games.

I wouldn't trust myself

That's odd. I was able to host a few different DS download play games on my R4.

Maybe it's just some games that don't work?

FYI, I own an R4 and of course am one of the many whom have one that the spring loaded memory slot has broken. Had to manually fix this, but rather perturbed to find it's been an ongoing issue for some time whcih the R4 team has yet to correct.

Great software compatibility, but very cheap design on that part. I won't buy another one of these devices.

Congrats anyway on the auto DLDI feature though, pretty neat.

Why on earth would an R4 update do anything for a completely unrelated SNES emulator? In any case, I've played Super Metroid up to the abandoned ship part in SNEmulDS v0.5 beta and I don't know what flashing you're talking about. Make sure you're using the latest version.

Not sure what the problem is there, as everything works fine on my end. Have you tried going to a prior firmware version and seeing if the problem continues or reinstalling?

go into game menu, make sure soft reset is turned off (red circle in top right corner of bottom screen), press start and try running moonshell again

What's wrong with talking about commercial roms? it's not that we're giving links or any other information about where you can get them!

That plus, its illegal no matter how you cut it.

So now that 1.10 is out, how often do the updates come out?
