An appeal has been overturned allowing Apple to sell in’s trademark device in the country.
After losing against the Brazilian company over the right to sell the device under the iPhone name, a court ruling deemed the decision to be wrong, reports Cellular News (http://www.cellular-news.com/story/62198.php).
Brazilian electronics supplier - IGB Electronica – previously registered the iPhone brand name back in 2000, but did not have it secured until 2008.
The company, in the hope that it would spur Apple on to purchasing the name off of them, released an Android powered iPhone in 2012.
However Apple did what all the big players do, and tried to sue IGB, surprisingly losing.
The appeal was overturned deeming that the iCompany would be able to sell its iPhone handsets without infringing on the Brazilian owned trademark.
