Soon we will have a new DCEmu site covering all Nintendo 64 Homebrew and emulators and editing tools etc

Any help grabbing all the items mentioned above would be great.

Submit them to our Submit News forum (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=117)

I don't like the idea really. There are emulators for Nintendo 64? There are homebrew games for Nintendo 64?

Not a very good range, not many people coded for the N64 homebrew scene

Yeah, I've never heard of any N64 Flashcarts before..

Exactly, even the PlayStation 1 (PSX) have emulators and homebrew games (and there's not a section for this console).

I mostly like this idea for the N64 re-texturing projects done by our forum member: ganondorf (http://dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/member.php?u=170613).

That's the only N64 stuff I see nowadays.

Yeah! I totally support this idea. You guys should try re-texturing.

If you need any help with the re-texturing tools, I got them all.

I like this idea too, theres more in n64 than it looks.

The n64 homebrew is actually gonna grow. Project 64 1.7 will be able to export and import models, and will be capable of retexturing. I dont know about sound replacement but it sounds possible.

Eh, this seems a little silly to me seeing at theres plenty of consoles with a much longer life left ahead of them to code for.

Even if the console/handheld is old, it doesn't mean people should not code on them. Just see the Saturn, people still code emulators and games for the Saturn.

personally, instead of a "homebrew" section, it should be all about texturing..thats just my opinion though

Yeah, but theres so many new systems that need more coders. Like...... all the new systems.

Well, it's also for N64 emulators for PC. And who knows, maybe someday someone will code an emulator or game for Nintendo 64 :)

you should know it's not very easy..

Not everyone will be able to play the homebrew on a N64 thou, unless they used an N64 emulator on PC...

...Which technically won't be N64 homebrew for some people, it will just be PC homebrew via a homebrew related N64 emulator - now I've confused myself, but I think I'm somewhat right?

There will be a n64 scene soon... I'm working on several things for it, as well as some hardware.

Glad to see this is finally getting some attention.

Well, I have been coding N64 for about a year now, various small demos and writing my own tools. When I get my first game finished I'll be releasing it as well as the source code/tools.
I am also learning FPGA design to produce a dev cart. I've already designed and almost built a 64mbit flash cart.

But so far i'm the only one doing any sort of original n64 homebrew, which is very discouraging at times (a lot of things figured out by trial and error.)
Hopefully when I release some docs people will take an interest in this sort of thing.

So how would you get homebre onto the n64 in the first place?

Yes, the Nintendo 64 scene is slowly growing. Just this year we've seen the release of Goldeneye and Super Mario 64 editors, and with the release of Project 64 1.7 looming on the horizon, more will be possible.

The new N64 part of the site is actually what I joined for.

if there would be more easy to buy N64 flash carts the scene would surley expode. i mean its to difficult to find those carts :(
