New features, easy access and a complete makeover for the mobile and desktop sites.
Firstly – HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY YAHOO MAIL.
To celebrate reaching this milestone in its life, Yahoo has updated its mail services for iOS, Android and desktop.
The look has completely changed, with a more elegant feel to it compared to the previous clunky and cartoony features.
User can now put a theme to their personal account, with a selection of images curated by Flikr – who introduced instagram-like filters and editing tools into its features back in August. (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/flickr-takes-on-instagram-with-new-filter-and-editing-tools/022271)
Any image chosen will be spread across every device that the mail is accessed on including desktop, smartphone or tablets.
Conversations have been introduced, so emails can be grouped together in threads, to save trawling through your account history in search of a message that has probably been deleted.
One-click actions such as deleting and flagging which appear as a drop down menu when you hover over an email, make for a slicker experience.
Many features previously reserved for Mail Plus customers are now free for all users, including disposable email addresses, enhanced filters and automatic message forwarding.
And as the icing on the birthday cake, Yahoo are giving its mail users 1TB (a whopping 1,000 GBs) worth of storage.
All updates are available from today for iOS, Android and Windows 8.
