Though Nyko remained pretty true to the bread and butter of console accessories (controllers, accessory kits, coolers) at this year's E3, the company did show off a prototype accessory we never would have expected to see realized in the flesh. Nyko's Party Station for the Wii was conceived as a coffee table centerpiece of Wii gaming, providing a focal point and various utilities for the social environment group Wii-gaming creates.

The battery powered base station rocks a wide variety of features including mundane things like slots for 4 Wiimotes and a storage drawer for nunchucks and accessories. Rather uniquely, the station also sports things like a bowling-lane-style hand cooling fan, 4 numeric LEDs displays for keeping track of group scoring, four freeze-able cup holders, and almost bizarrely, a center bowl for holding chips and dips.

We've honestly never seen anything like it, but the Wii is certainly a social console and we think this modified pyramid of Wii-worship would be pretty fun at a Wii-themed party. Nyko is currently revising the design to allow for a bigger chip dish area and is hoping to eventually get the product out the door with a gift / impulse friendly tentative $24.99 MSRP.
