View Full Version : Having several problems after downgrading to 1.50

Yesterday I borrowed my friend's copy of Lumines to downgrade my PSP. I eventually got the 1.50 downgrade to work properly, but then my PC stopped recognizing and mounting my PSP when I put it in USB mode.

Whenever I try to use the homebrew apps that came with the downgrade package, I get an "The game could not be started. (80020001)" error message.

My friend suggested upgrading to the 3.40 OE-A custom homebrew, but when I try to update, I get an "Opening and checking 150.PBP, Cannot open file" message.

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me work this out, I just want to run snes and n64 emulators. I got my PSP to mount with my mac, so if someone posts a hosting website I can use, I'll upload it and you can dig around to see what is wrong. In case it is not clear, I am currently running v. 1.50 on my PSP.

when you generate the dxar you must transfer the file to the oeflasher folder

if you dont understand that then use this (http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1134)

* hopefully you know how to use ^^^ with a mac

Google 3.40 OE-A winstaller.

It does all the work for you.

Next time, read the ****ing readme.

btw the homebrew in the downgrade package is for 3.50 hen enabler not for custom or 1.5 fw thats why you got an eror

^uh, its a 3.5 HEN but then you use the x.yz downgrader (if it is still called that) to downgrade to 1.5. if he says he has 1.5, then he has everything working correctly....:p

Well, if you're on mac, either
A) Get Darwin.
or
B) Read the entire readme.

the obvious error is he didnt generate a data.dxar and/or didnt transfer that data.dxar to the oeflasher folder

No, he didn't put the updates in the oeudmaker folder.

Here is my PSP folder, is it possible for someone to install the easy homebrew dealie or point out exactly what I need to do? I have no clue what this data.dxar or what to do with the oeudmaker folder and whatever.

You must put both updates in the "oeupdater" folder as "340.pbp" and "150.pbp". "150.pbp" is the 1.50 update, and "340.pbp" is the 3.40 update.

No, he didn't put the updates in the oeudmaker folder.

I said he didnt generate the data.dxar which refers to not putting the updates in the oeumaker folder to generate the data.dxar

Okay, I found the part I skipped in the 3.40 OE-A instructions. I guess now I need 150.PBP and 340.PBP, so can someone point me in the direction to get those?

EDIT: I got 150.PBP, but I can't find 340.PBP. Is it just the EBOOT file from http://dl.qj.net/Firmwares/pg/12/fid/13553/catid/163

EDIT: assuming it is the file from above, I followed the instructions but now, when I try to execute the update, I get the 80020001 error.

if you can mount it on a mac, but no pc, then u should try uninstalling the driver for your psp in the device manager, then plug it in again, and it should read it! because its a "new" device

try that and tell me if it works
