Almost a decade after selling its stake in local distributor SEGA Ozisoft, SEGA is to establish a new subsidiary office in Australia.

According to a report on Gamespot, Nintendo PR executive Vispi Bhopti will help to set up the office, which will be based in Sydney.

Bhopti did not reveal when SEGA Australia will open its doors but did state that an announcement will be made within the coming weeks.

He also said that Darren MacBeth - formerly managing director of Ubisoft Australia - will head up the operation.

SEGA's games are currently distributed in Australia by THQ. The company sold its SEGA Ozisoft stake in March 1998.
