Good idea but it would propably be useless soon. More and more tvs are coming with more than one HDMI input.
If i remember correctly, a similar thing was done for rgb and scart inputs too.

I'm needing a 4 or more HDMI port - but they are close to $100!
currently I have:
Xbox Elite
PS3
Sony 400 disc DVD
Connected to my LG LCD TV that only has ONE port! Switching the cable by hand REALLY sucks! So it might be useless soon but not for me! :-)
