What is the max size map mapthis will handle? I recenty tried making a hybrid map of seoul korea and if i right click/properties it says the size is 145MB, but Size on disk reads 2.71GB.

It also took forever to put this map on my psp.Any input?

Open it with a hex editor to find out the real size of the file.

size on disk might be a problem with the program that wrote it adding a whole bunch of zeros to the end.

compress your map tiles with gpsfs option...
this huge map size is due to huge FAT overhead of your memory stick.
FAT is really inefficient when it comes to storing large number of small files...
once you convert your tiles to gpsfs format you'll end up with only 5 files with total size of ~145Mb
Transfer time should not take more than 2-3 minutes.. ;-)

your map (145Mb) is not really that big - I tried maps of ~2Gb without any problems..

but just curious, how does the GPSFS file type store image data?
