The R4 Team has released the long awaited loader update for their R4 DS slot-1 card. There are lots of fixes and improvements in this version, such as soft-reset fixes for certain games, the ability to toggle in-game cheats on/off in real-time, updated Moonshell and download play support has supposedly been fixed for all games, but this hasn't been tested/confirmed.

Solved the soft reset of some games, for example: 1158 Zelda
Solved the white screen issue of game 1209
Adding the on/off option for real-time cheats switch
Updated moonshell to v1.71 and supporting soft reset
Full download play support (Please use trim_tool 2.0 to trim ROMs)

Have an M3 Simply and cant wait for the update to come out? Now you can take the R4 update and convert it to work on the M3 Simply.

What is the purpose of this?
R4DS and M3DSS use more or less the same firmwares, but they are region and manufacturer locked -- meaning that if you use M3DSS firmware on R4DS hardware it won't work, or if you use English firmware on Chinese Hardware, it won't work. My program patches these firmwares so that they can run on whatever you patch them for.

What are the risks?
There are none that I know of. No one has reported any problems and there is no way a patched _DS_MENU can do any >>permanent<< damage to your card. If your DS displays any error messages, simply delete the _DS_MENU.DAT and _DS_MENU.SYS (if it exists), and put your old firmware back on. The worst-case scenario is that your Micro SD will be corrupted, so always be sure to backup anything important before you upgrade (even if you're using official software).
