View Full Version : WiiControl gives the temperature read out of your Wii

The WiiControl is one modder's solution to avoid overheating when WiiConnect24 isn't running a fan. An external LCD displays the internal temperature at all times. If the heat rises past 35°C, the Wii's fan kicks on just like it should have in the first place.

Insteadv'e making something as big and ugly as that which uses the USB, they should've made a USB cooling unit for the base of the Wii with a small display indicating the temperature...

...And whilst on the subject of USB and going offtopic, a USB mod chip would be something cool! :p

couldnt a firmware update by ninty just make the fan kick in at 35°C?

Nintendo can do anything with their console using firmwares, they can even trigger the fan to run constantly if they wanted.
