http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/10/unnamed_620x340.jpgTruckloads of people still use Windows (http://www.engadget.com/2013/10/24/microsoft-q1-2014-earnings/) despite the slump in PC shipments (http://www.engadget.com/2013/10/09/gartner-and-idc-pc-data-q3-2013/), so it's no surprise that a lot of folks snagged Microsoft's Remote Desktop app (http://www.engadget.com/2013/10/17/microsoft-remote-desktop-apps-ios-android/). 17 days after its debut, Microsoft says the app has counted 1 million downloads across the Android, iOS and OS X platforms. The software, which lets users access their computers through other gadgets, is also the fastest growing among the company's Android apps that include SkyDrive (http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/28/microsoft-skydrive-for-android-app-now-available/) and Office Mobile (http://www.engadget.com/2013/07/31/office-mobile-for-android/). Unfortunately, we're still in the dark when it comes to the Windows Phone version's availability, but we'll tell you as soon we hear more (http://www.engadget.com/2013/10/19/microsoft-remote-desktop-for-windows-phone/).
