Okay, remember that girl I was talking about a while ago (Brooke Watson), I had an emormous crush on her?

What's odd is that if she's in the general vicinity, I basically get a panic attack (almost like a Brookephobia), even though I don't like her anymore. If she's on one end of a building, I'll do my best to stay on the other. I'm basically terrified of her.

Normally, I'm one fun guy to be around (unless I happen to get glares from my audience), but I turn into a shy 5 year old when she's around. And she's the nicest girl I've half-way met (I asked her out through a myspace PM).

A major accomplishment for me was giving her a Starbucks giftcard for Christmas last year. It took weeks of getting mentally prepared for it, and in the end, I gave it to someone else to give it to her.

Another thing that's odd is that I haven't even had the slightest crush on anyone else since it started.

So, what's your verdict? Am I just one damn wimp that won't face his fears?

Well your a bit like my cousin he feels uncomftable being around with the girl he fancies. For some boys its harder for them ask/talk/ give her something. Maybe you could have tryed being alone with her and no one else dont tell her you feel shy about her thats a big no no. Just talk about anything really

heres the thing. whilst still in the throws of passion you did some things that you fear she sees as "weird" or "awkward".

I understand where your coming ExcruciationX, theres this girl that I went out with a few years ago and I find it awkward to talk to her. We got pretty close and the relationship ended badly. We have the same friends, so we hang out sometimes and I just feel funny when I talk to her or I turn the other way if I see her walking in my direction. I havn't had feelings for her in a long time and I actually find her to be annoying sometimes too. I have other ex-girlfriends that I talk to still as if they are my best friend. I don't know why I feel strange around her.

The days you've planed out whatever it is you want to say never go as expected and you end up not saying what you want to say meaning you go avoiding her?

So basically, your shy and you lack in confidence to even speak to her. That's actually quite normal, even after all the feelings have gone because of the awkwardness of you knowing you liked her (or something like that). There are two options for you, which you could continue avoiding her or you could try talking her and get to know her as a friend (if you wanted to).

Don't worry too much about it. My advice is to never plan out how you will approach someone. I actually had the same problem with a girl I liked when I was younger. I was just as awkward around her until I had attended college for three years away from her.

A few years will change the way you view people. Just remember that she is a person too. That means that she is no better than you. She makes mistakes and has character flaws as well.

Also, if you have nothing to talk about; don't try to force a conversation. That will just make things feel more awkward.
