Really cool. How about flac and ape support? is there a possibility that movies could be supported in the future?

Not sure about the video support because I have to take care of my studies :(.
Also, I've been thinking about lowering the clock speed a little (less battery consuming). Something like Light MP3.

This is a tremendous piece of homebrew that you have developed. Thank you so much for the hard work. I am sure this would be very difficult but if you would like to improve this you could always add video support with the all important AVI format and to make it the ultimate media player it would play an AVI file of any resolution. This is already a great application but that would be incredible.

When I try to access the music library, the "press start to reboot" screen comes up :( Any idea why this might be happening? I had no problems with this in your previous release.

Info on my PSP:
Put the media player in: ms0:/PSP/GAME150/
Custom firmware: M33 3.52-2
Music Directory: ms0:/PSP/MUSIC/
Number of mp3s in directory: 695 (at 128kbs)

None of my mp3s have any unusual characters or anything, so I'm a little confused here...any help would be appreciated.

Edit: Changing the directory to ms0:/MUSIC did solve the problem. Thanks for the help :)

Hmmm, try moving them to ms0:/MUSIC and see if that works.

I think I know where the problem is, it'll be fixed ASAP, later today.

when i have all my songs in ms0:\PSP\MUSIC when i press on library (->) app just say "Press start to restart"
after i move all files to ms0:\MUSIC then app after i go to MUSIC LIBRARY (->) first show me a empty library (with blue bar bar on second position from top) and just say "press start to restart" after pressing (->) so there's something wrong - previous version working better for me :/

other things:

request: SID (c64) format and OKT (amiga) format :)

and more stability ;)

I've never used iTunes before and can't find where to:
"2. Set iTunes inorder to detect your PSP drive"

Any help, please?

-Xandu-
August 5th, 2007, 13:23
Well, you can: File, Add folder to library, choose PSP drive ;).

MikeyMike01
August 5th, 2007, 15:30
Do you have to use iTunes with this? Or can you manually put songs in X:PSP/MUSIC? Cause this looks amazing :D but iTunes sucks .

DarthPaul
August 5th, 2007, 15:41
You can put the songs manually Mikey. :)

1.Where are your music located?
2.Are your files in subfolders?
3.Try XMP 1.2B. If it works there then there's a bug in 1.2c :(.

What the hell?
I thought the Music Quiz was there just to add some more text to the Gui or something. It never works for me,I just press it and nothing happens.
I don't know if it happens in this version because I haven't test it yet...

Lol no it's perfectly functional.
Enter music library, enter a folder with lots of music, press back and directly open music quiz. Report back if it doesn't work ;).

Nope, nothing. Maybe it could've worked if I had the folder with "lots" of music.. I only have 3 mp3's in my PSP.:o

What error does it give you? Make sure you either have music in PSP/MUSIC or MUSIC.
Darthpaul: yep, that's why. It needs atleast 6 songs to play ;).

Make sure your songs don't have weird characters, ie. (Japanese or Chinese characters).

wow thx this is great, the ONE thing about the psp that grinds my gears is the mp3 sound is so damn low unless you have really loud earphones you might as well not listen to it outside

i walk alot so i am using my psp for mp3s while i walk and when cars go by you cant hear shit, the only earphones that are loud enough are noise cancelling or the ipod ones (they are actually really good earphones even if the shuffle dock sucks)

I had the problem described early on in this thread, with 1.2c. Moving my music files fixed it. However, I think this needs to be addressed yet again.

GUI needs to be cleaned up. Here are my suggestions:

Headers ("Xandu's Media Player", "Settings", etc) needs to be aligned properly. It's too high, and sometimes a little to the left.
The battery icon should be moved down a few pixels to be centered with the top gradient (like-wise with the headers, as explained above).
Music Library arrow should be aligned with the other arrows.
Should be a little padding between the text and the left edge of the screen.
Slide effect is choppy for me. Option to turn it off?
Option to turn off Music Quiz. When turned off, it shouldn't appear in the main menu. (I like my menu's to be cleaned.)
The "Now Playing" window appears slightly to the right by 2-3 pixels. (See the gradient.)
Using the L/R buttons while playing a song is a bit choppy, in terms of sound.
Scroll bar is screwy (visually): Mess around and you'll see what I mean.
Press and hold arrows to scroll would be a nice touch.

That'll make you busy. :P

Sorry to bring it up again, but is flac as possibility? for those of us with 4 giggers who demand lossless :)?

How about the ability to select different skins? If all the images were in separate folders it would be very manageable.

-Xandu-
August 6th, 2007, 15:02
Not sure about flac yet, I'll look into it ;).
As for themes, yeah, I was thinking about leaving the images open so they can be edited. So they can open the door for unofficial XMP themes :).
All these cool features will be added to 1.3 (if it's released). So I'm open for suggestions, everybody!

This definitely has the making of a great app.

If you add FF, RW, fix the glitches, and fix the asthetic problems this will definitely be replacing my XMB Music player.

And it would be amazing if you added video.

Is it possible to manually add a cover.jpg to an album folder had have it appear in the 'now playing' screen?

I am also encountering a bug with a album folder disappearing and reappearing. The folder title and tracks within contains "-" and "_"

I've just now ended up in a 'Press start to restart' loop. I had to hard reset.

30mb+ Wav files are either freezing and shutting down the psp or returning an out of memory error.
