Hori have today released a new 160GB Hard Drive for the PS3. The Hard drive is made specially for the PS3. The price of the Hard Drive stands at US$ 229.90 (~113.77 GBP)

I cant find any information on this on Hori's official site. I want this but wouldnt spend anywhere near that ammount for a hdd.

Is that a standard 3'5 inch hard disk or a 2'5 notebook one? In any case, I can get an internal or external one for cheaper than $230.

That's almost half the PS3's price. Expensive for a harddrive.

What's the point? I thought the PS3 could use regular HDDs.

The Playstation 3 uses 2'5 inch SATA notebook drives. That means you can buy one and just replace the usual 20 or 60GB one for your higher capacity one. By the way, the hard disk that comes with the PS3 will be made by Segate or some other company and not Sony as I have checked mine.

I just bought an internel 120gb 2'5 inch sata hard drive for $95. Is that good???
