http://www.pspcrazy.com/xlinkkaimacpsptutorial.htm (This link spiked my curiosity) can a laptop with a wireless card such as my mac G4 with airport extreme be used to broadcast as a wifi hotspot? Thus circumventing the need for a router?? This would change my life! as my college doesn't allow for routers in the dorms, I only have dsl through ethernet. If someone could please help me set this up, I have kaid, registered, and amaryllis, I just need better instructions and I haven't been able to find any. -Sisko (Long live DARK ALEX, M33-TEAM, CAMY DUAL LAYER, CORE GAMER, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, AND 3.40 OE A) !

system pref/sharing/internet.

simply set up the sharing method and click start. obviously you cant share one source through one port.

i assume your case would be: ethernet shared through airport.

if you have any trouble with an automatic connection, post back and i will talk you through the 'Terminal' app procedure to find out the correct settings. This is needed for connecting a DS.

I realize that this is probably a dead thread since callsignAPOLLO worked out his issue, but I just thought I'd post that you have to set up the internet sharing WITHOUT encryption. I tested a bunch of different WEP encryption options and couldn't get any to work. Searching the interent, it seems that many other people have been unsuccessful as well.

Additionally, I had to follow the instructions at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107653 before I could get the internet sharing to work.

Now all I'm looking for is information about accessing pages stored on my hard disk. Haven't been able to do so yet with this methoud. If anyone knows how to do so through just the airport card, could you please post the instructions? Similarly, if NetHostFS can be used through the airport card, I'd be extremely greatful for instructions on that as well.

By the way, (for anyone interested) I believe this links to the information that Accordion was talking about: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20051119155606277
