http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2013/11/koboandroid_620x340.jpgYou wouldn't expect an e-reader to be very customizable, but they've provided a rich seam (http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/16/sony-reader-prs-t1-hacked-to-expose-android-run-other-e-reader/) of fodder (http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/13/hackers-start-hacking-the-pandigital-novel-e-reader/) for enterprising (http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/23/hack-enables-fast-refresh-mode-on-nook-simple-touch-video/) hackers (http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/02/kindle-paperwhite-raspberry-pi-hack/). The latest to be broken is Kobo's Glo (http://www.engadget.com/2012/11/02/kobo-glo-review/), which has has been tweaked to run a full version of Android by a user on MobileRead's (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=225940)forums. It was relatively easy, as the Glo shares a lot of DNA with the previously-cracked Tolino Shine. Naturally, the hack gives you Google Play access, so it's entirely possible to install the Kindle app on the reader, but remember -- you'd be breaking a lot of hearts over at Kobo towers if you did.
